Dunderberg Peak.  Saturday morning early, Dave, Nate, Julian and I had our sights on the nice, long and steep south chute on Dunderberg Peak (pictured here).  We actually had skiable snow all the way back to the road, following the narrow finger of snow at the bottom of the chute.  The view from the top is phenomenal.

Heading up Dunderberg.  Nate and Dave start off towards Dunderberg.  Julian left about an hour after us and still kicked our butts to the top.

Up the Chute.  Here's Dave practicing his "Freedom Technique" (formerly known as the "French Technique").  Mt. Dana and the other peaks of Tioga Pass are in the background.

Mt. Dana.  From this vantage point, Mt. Dana dominates the horizon.  In the foreground is the steep South Peak/Black Mtn. headwall that we would be skiing later in the afternoon.

Random Bozeman Dude.  So we thought Julian was fast until this random guy from Bozeman came out of nowhere and smoked us up to the summit.

Crossing the Summit Plateau.  Dave and Nate crossing the summit plateau (look for the two small dots).  Mono Lake lies below.

More Random Mountain Shots.  At left is Virginia Peak and behind it, Whorl Mountain.  Below left is Mt. Dana and the peaks over Lundy Canyon.  Below right is Mt. Conness and North Peak.
